10 things…

…that most people don’t know about me!

Feel Good Blogging Challenge no.4 ( Thank you Alex Beadon for all the wonderful prompts 🙂

1.) In my life I have moved 14 times. Moving about in Germany, moving to South Africa, moving back to Germany, moving about there, moving on to live and work on a ship, moving back to Germany and then the very last and current move from Germany to Fort Lauderdale Florida.

2.) Yup, you heard right 🙂 I lived and worked on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas for two years. There I spent my time as a team member of the onboard Sports Staff.

3.) I met the love of my life at age 18 after spending a few weeks visualizing ‘a boyfriend’ following the exercises in John Kehoe’s ‘Mind Power’ 😉 Hahaha! I did not look for a husband at the time. That’s for sure!

We have now known each other for 20 years and have been married for 18. It hasn’t always been easy but it sure has been an adventure. And looking back now I feel so blessed and am in awe at how the ‘Law of Attraction’ has worked out for us.

4.) I have a missing tooth since about 2007 that I so wish I could to get an implant for but have not been able to since due to it being quite pricey.

5.) I started getting grey hairs at age 24.  It seems to be a family thing on my mother’s side 🙁

6.) I opened up my very first group training studio “Fitness for Body & Soul” at age 24 (wonder if there might be a connection to those grey hairs….hmmmm? ). I have always been an entrepreneur and free spirit at heart. To this day I still am!

7.) I had type 2 Diabetes by the age of 28.  I had gained 40 pounds. And that while teaching 21 ‘fitness classes’ a week.

8.) I have worked at McDonald’s as a cashier three times in my life. It was always my choice of employment when I did not know where to go to next, what to do. how to move on. It was the place I ended up when at a cross roads in my life.

9.) I have won 4 contests in my life. The first one I remember was a creativity contest, at age 12, where I had to think up an original kind of hairstyle. I won a mini fridge. Hehehe. I still remember the sheer surprise and delight when it just turned up on our doorstep via mail. The second one I remember, at age 15, I was dancing for a contest hosted by Good Hope Radio in Cape Town South Africa in Camps Bay on the beach. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing and I won a  beach towel which I lovingly  cherished for a good 20 years . I  only let go of it when we moved onto ship.

And this year  I won 2 online contests aimed at women entrepreneurs. The first one was a 21 day Goddess Visibility Contest hosted by Lucinda Rae and I won a Goddess Archetype Assessment valued at $197. The second one was a contest hosted by Ava Waits called  Creating Financial Paradise and I won a online course “30 days to releasing your financial constriction” valued at $400.

10.) Originally I wanted “to be a Fashion Designer when I grow up.” I never got there but I am actually a certified seamstress by German standards. And I live the designer attributes within me by designing and making handcrafted jewelry via the Macramé technique. 😉

I hope you have enjoyed my 10 little known facts about me and I will see YOU tomorrow on day no.5 of the Feel Good Blogging Challenge. Wohoo!

Having fun,

Nadia.

  • I’ve got white hairs coming through. Something from my mother’s side too. She started going grey at 19… I’ve always said when it goes I won’t dye it… Don’t know how I feel now it’s actually beginning! Great post! 🙂 xx

    • At first there were not so many. But over time I decided to dye them. It is not as much the color grey for me but more the texture of them. Hairs losing their color also loose their subtleness. One thing I would do if I wanted to go all natural is start using henna to color my hair. It would turn me into a total red head which I would love!

  • Wow! That’s a lot of moving! South Africa and Florida seem a bit random in the mix.
I thought I moved a lot…and I only moved like 8 times. However I once lived an entire year out of my car…that’s another story!

  • I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a certified seamstress – it makes sense, though. You had some very cool experiences! I look forward to reading more about them, and you. 🙂
