A useful post – my mentors

Since the time I was 11 years old and given my very first self-help, personal development/ growth, and positive thinking book by my father…. I have been hooked onto being ‘mentored’ by books. In my case it was not people coming into my life (unfortunately) sharing their wisdom with me, but books that helped me grow. Of course, behind the book stands a coach, teacher, and mentor, sharing their life’s work through the written word. So I am very grateful for the medium of books. Books live close to my heart.

Today I share with you what is dear to my heart : books & mentors helping me to transcend, transmute, and transform…. from the caterpillar that did not know ….to the butterfly that soars!

Book no.1 came at age 11/12 and was the catalyst and seed planted to believe ‘anything in my life to be possible and achievable’ :

‘You can if you think you can’ by Norman Vincent Peale

Book no.2 came to me at age 16 and was the one ‘that ignited my soul desire and life’s work’ :

‘Ultrahealth : The Positive Way to Vitality and Good Looks’ by Leslie Kenton

Book no.3 came at age 18 and ‘proved to me that the Law of Attraction really works’ when I attracted my boyfriend and husband of now 18 years into my life using the visualization techniques suggested :

‘Mind Power’ by John Kehoe

Book no.4 came to me at age 21 and ‘showed me that I cconsciously choose to live in the light and become the change I want to see in this world’ :

‘Living in the Light : Follow Your Inner Guidance to Create a New Life and a New World’ by Shakti Gawain

Book no.5 came at age 25 and ‘introduced me to my soul on a conscious level’ :

‘The Seat of the Soul’ by Gary Zukav

My favorite quote out of the book  ‘ When the personality comes fully to serve the energy of its soul, that is authentic empowerment.’

Book no.6 came to me at age 27 ‘when I was busy chasing the future and always the next best thing’ :

‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Toll

Even though it took me years to fully grasp what I had read, I believe it was here that I was introduced to the PRESENT.

Book no.7 came to me at age 29 and I found myself 40 pounds overweight, with type 2 Diabetes symptoms, and insulin resistance. ‘Here I was mentored on sugar sensitivity, the role of insulin, and nutritional biochemistry.’ :

‘Your Last Diet- the Sugar Addict’s Weight Loss Plan’ by Kathleen DesMaison

I found this video on YouTube and loved it because there is someone that values books as much as I do and also supports the great work of Kathleen DesMaison 🙂

)

Book no.8 came to me at age 34 – after I was introduced to the concept of ultrahealth, understood biochemistry and the power of my mind, but also heard my soul calling for more. ‘This book introduced me to the words that had lived within me but no one had spoken before.’

‘Goddess to the Core’ by Sierra Bender

Book no.9 came to me simultaneously, ‘helping me with body bashing issues I was facing. It mentored me in mastering and practicing self love and forgiveness’.

‘A course in Weightloss – 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever’ by Marianne Williamson

Book no.10, 11, and 12 introduced me to the study of brain science and offered the scientific solution to stress at age 35, ‘completely SAVING MY LIFE FOR ME after two major burnouts I had faced.’ First one was at age 28. Second one at age 35. Both leaving me sick, dis-eased, depressed, in pain on all levels, and completely sucked dry and oblivious to the joy that is life.

‘The Solution’, ‘The Pathway’, and ‘Wired for Joy’ all by Laurel Mellin

Armed with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom (‘You know better, you do better.’) book no.13 implemented, integrated, and deeply rooted what I had learned from ‘my mentors’ so far. ‘Gratitude began to color my life with awe, wonder, amazement, and magic through the teachings of Rhonda Byrne.’

‘The Magic’ by Rhonda Byrne

Book no.14 and currently the last book and mentor in the mix, served me so very well while waiting for my immigrant visa in Germany (and things were not looking so good at all.)

Book no.14 literally ‘handed me a daily ritual full of Life S.A.V.E.R.S. that transformed an ugly situation into a beautiful one for me.’

‘The Miracle Morning – The Not So Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life’ by Hal Elrod

I do seem to have an innate ability to tap into the essence of a book, magically receiving its offering. It’s as if books come alive for me as the mentor, guide, and teacher, that wrote it.

These books  (although I have read many more) have shaped my life for the better!

They have supplied me with soul medicine, have ignited my soul desire over and over again, to live my soul purpose life and business, and have taught me to harness my soul fire to do good in the world.

My relationship to them has truly become a wondrous one. I now trust, with every fiber of my being, that the right book will find me, as it always has, at the exact right time.

And I will tap into its offering, magically receiving a healing activation, and  within that healing activation , I will find my next blissful action steps. So that I can further expand into abundance, success, and love, creating my Happy Wholesome Life from the heart.

And I am here to teach you how to do the same….

Once I entered the US (October 2014) , I found yet another book, at a very profound turning point in my life. Just as I was finalizing and  getting ready to launch my third business within my lifetime.

This book helped me understand my story and why I had created previous businesses in the way that I had.

Book no. 15 …. ‘showed me how this time around,  I could make sure , that my business would become a success ( Prosperity = Money + Happiness + Sustainability ) by learning how to integrate my shadow.’

‘How to Rock Your Feminine Type to Rock Your Business’ by Joy Balma

These are the books and mentors that have made me into the Modern Day Medicine Woman & Sacred Self Care Muse that I am TODAY!

  • Nadia–I found myself intrigued as I read through your list. It wasn’t so much for me about the particular books. It was how you deeply engaged with the books so that they became like living mentors to you. I felt how they were much more than “information” to you and that touched me deeply. Hugs–Laurie

  • I could almost see you — at the different ages and stages — gobbling up the inspiration and wisdom in each of the books that found you. It seems that you were able to ‘meet’ the right guides and take action. Lovely post!
