Soul Medicine in the Sanctuary Sisterhood

This week I started a conversation in my private FB group, the ‘Sanctuary Sisterhood’. A conversation of over giving and not knowing your boundaries. A conversation I just know all to well. The shadow side of being a giver and a nurturer. And the harsh reality of finding yourself burned out, bummed out , and running on empty!

I am so grateful and appreciative of the likeminded women coming together in the group and their courage to speak out loud what not many givers and nurturers allow themselves to voice.

But, you see honey, acknowledging your current truth and voicing your needs is exactly the kind of soul medicine your heart yearns for. It is what you need to fuel yourself, to start feeling vibrant again, and to fill yourself up.

After I started the conversation within the group I started seeing a theme all throughout my day. I started noticing all the conversations that were taking place amongst women on FB. And I realized women are awakening on a collective level. They are beginning to honor their boundaries, they are starting to voice their needs, and they are starting to acknowledge that they deserve love, support, and admiration, in the same way that they pour out their love, support, and admiration to the ones they love.

Let me share with you the conversation with the intention that you too will allow the soul medicine to saturate your being!

1.) Givers need to set limits because takers won’t….

This is what I wrote and shared within the group :

“I know that I generally attract givers and nurturers into my tribe because quite frankly…..

My vibe attracts my tribe!

I also know the shadow side of being a giver and nurturer…..

You can end up completely burned out!

The biggest challenge for me as a giver and nurturer was to learn where I begin and where I end, what my needs are and how to have them met.

So today I encourage you to do just that!

What do you need today and how could the sisterhood support you ?”

My mum, a Spiritual Warrior Goddess herself, is in the group as well and allowed me to share her response to my post and her experience of it.

“What do I need today? strength to carry on, completing the challenge I have in front of me, I am tired right now, and even though the sun is shining I have no feelling to get out there and enjoy the warmth the sun brings. Yet I do feel grateful for all my blessings coming my way. A mixed up feeling right?”

2.) As I began to love myself…..

Meanwhile a lovely FB friend of mine shared something on my wall, letting me know that she could hear my voice in her head as she was reading it….she really touched my heart and brightened my day with her heartfelt share from one likeminded sister to another 🙂 Here is what she shared with me :

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY“.

“As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.
Today I call it “RESPECT“.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY“.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment, so I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE“.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.
Today I call it “SIMPLICITY“.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything the drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF“.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is “MODESTY“.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.
Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT“.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART“.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.
Today I know THAT IS “LIFE“!

3.) Just BEing versus DOing…..

Meanwhile in another community that I am a part of….

“It’s really easy to get caught up in the business of life, business, and the pursuit of happiness. We can even enjoy those things so much that we forget that it’s not all about doing. We need to remember to just BE. Be with ourselves in silence and respect for the part of us that is truly our highest self. Loving and nurturing that private and pure space will bring on transformation that is beyond your wildest dreams.

What are you doing today or this week to bring focus to your spirit?

Here are my spirit focus points:

I am being in music and nature.
I am being in meditation and allowing what comes up to come up.
I am being in love with me right now.
I am being in love with all things that I know are a part of me.
I am being OK with letting go of attachments, for I truly don’t own anything.
I am being. “

3.) Receiving and allowing the gift of a healing activation…..

As I was taking note of the conversation happening around me….not only in my community but other communities and gatherings of women… I took this conversation we are having today to my heart space and I prayed for all of us women as a collective. I prayed and asked that we may feel loved, supported, and adored… much as we love, adore, and support the ones we love!

And shortly after that prayer it came full circle!!

Mum tagged me in an angel card reading that she had received  shortly after our conversation about this started . Her reading was done by yet another beautiful and caring giver and nurturer soul. She does these for free for her FB friends. What a big heart she has!

I am sharing the angel card reading here with mum’s permission…..because I believe it to be a healing activation that we can all open our hearts to , so that we may receive and allow its offering of self love and acceptance.

It REALLY is about women giving themselves permission to just BE.

….to be loved, adored, and supported.

….to BE nourished, nurtured, and filled up!

So here we go:

JAMIELA B. & angel Bethany

“This card speaks of taking care of yourself. You are spiritually being guided to take excellent care of yourself and your health. The word I’m getting is “relaxing”, it’s important for you. Lol- spirit is light in the sense of saying “it’s okay to take a nap!” I am hearing you do not have to be on your feet all the time. You can allow yourself to do this in different ways by getting a massage, pedicure, taking a salt bath, or sitting in a park with nature.
You are being reminded that there are “cycles” in all parts of life. And you are at the end of a cycle in your life and to call upon your angels for extra comfort and guidance and you will feel what your next step is. If you feel sad, tired or indecisive allow yourself the time to cry, rest or to rethink – your ideas or plans. Another way you can release any emotions/thoughts is by keeping a journal.”

Breathe. Relax. Allow. Enjoy.

Let this energy and soul medicine saturate your being and allow yourself to be loved, adored, and supported.

Much love,

  • Awesome post! I don’t even know where to start lol. I love how you expand on this to include all women, in a collective space! That is the definition of bringing expansion to your life – thank you for the example! I also really like how you describe Authenticity by including the parts that rub up against it, that harden us to our Vulnerability. I will be meditating on that one!!! Much love and thanks!

    • Brandy, I am so grateful that you are receiving the expansion and healing accompanying it. And I thrilled that you will use your very own expansion to shine your light even brighter! Gay Hendrick’s shares a wonderful expansion mantra in his book ‘The Big Leap’ that I am sure will serve you as well as it has served me : ‘ I expand in abundance, success, and love every day, as I inspire those around me to do the same.’

  • Yes! After the conversation yesterday I started seeing examples everywhere too. Even my husband at the end of the day after looking at my very long to do list that I had mostly got done said the same thing – “You need to simplify your schedule, you’re doing too much and you’re exhausted. ” It was like he was echoing you!

I love this post! I love the thought that women collectively are awakening and becoming empowered to care for themselves in order to do their soul work – what gives the most joy right now in the moment! So powerful!

    • Gypsy, I am so, so happy you are receiving the healing activation and are seeing connections. Halleluja! For your wonderful man, his love, and support. Yes, please simplify… will see it will only bless you and drastically change your daily experience.
Remember….you do not have to be perfect!!! Rather go for whole and integrated spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. 🙂 Much love to you and your family!
